Baby mobile with Link WIDE - INSTAX by Fujifilm (Belgium)

Baby mobile with Link WIDE

What do you need?

  • instax Link WIDE
  • instax WIDE film
  • 4 pieces of felt (20 x 30 cm)
  • 10 felt balls
  • 1 piece of thick paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • All-purpose glue
  • Painting brush
  • 2 wooden baby mobile arches (with holes)
  • Thick thread or white embroidery floss (borduurgaren)
  • Large eye needle

Step 1

Print your favourite photos using the instax Link WIDE printer.

Tip: Remember the vision of babies is limited so it's best to use photos that have some contrast.

Step 2

Use a pencil to trace the shape of the photos on the thick paper and cut them out.

Step 3

Cut each piece of felt into a 14 cm x 25 cm rectangular.

Tip: if your felt piece is wrinkled, iron it through a damp cloth.

Step 4

Use the painting brush to glue the thick paper on the felt. Glue it 2 cm from the top and 1,5 cm from the sides. Apply the glue on the felt around the thick paper and fold the felt in half. Press to make sure the felt is glued to each other well.

Step 5

Glue the photos on the felt (on the side where you glued the paper to the felt, not the looser side), 2 cm from the top and 1,5 cm from the sides.

Step 6

Put a double thread through the top holes of the wooden mobile arches.

Step 7

Thread a needle with the bottom part of the thread and sew a felt ball onto it. (To sew it, make 3 loops on the top of the ball to make sure it's well attached and to finish it off - push the needle with the thread to the bottom and cut it off).

Step 8

Thread through another felt ball on the top of the mobile and push it towards the wooden mobile frame.

Step 9

Thread a single thread through a needle and sew a ball to the end of it. Repeat 3 more times. Put the thread with the ball through the lowest holes on the baby mobile arches and make one loop around the hole to secure, as shown on the photo.

Step 10

Sew another felt ball on the bottom of each thread. Then sew that ball to the felt, in the middle of the felt frames. Hang your baby mobile above the baby crib or baby cot.
